About Us
Charming ‘cottages’ with river views, surrounded by countryside
Hall Farm Cottages are luxurious self-catering flats, constructed in 2005-06 from a barn conversion offering ideal accommodation for anyone looking for self-catering in the Maldon area in Essex – whether for a holiday or for a stay in Essex.
Hall Farm Cottages can also cater for large groups, eg Weddings or Birthdays Parties.
The family-run farm surrounds ‘the cottages’ and each unit has its own unique view of the River Crouch and surrounding countryside. It is a prime location for walks in the 9 hectares of woodland planted in 2002 by the River Crouch – home to an abundance of wildlife – or by the River Crouch, along the sea-wall where you will be kept entertained by sailing boats going up and down the river.
Self Catering Flats
Each one of our 5 holiday ‘cottages’ has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room/lounge area and a bathroom with shower. There is also ample cupboard space.
One cottage (Thistle) has been designed specifically for disabled users.
Lounge with Dining Area
All 5 ‘cottages’ are centrally heated and enjoy equal modern high standards while having their own individuality.
Their slightly different characteristics (and pricing) may guide your choice when availability permits.
Fully Fitted Kitchen
Each cottage has its own individually designed kitchen with a cooker, a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer to enable you to self-cater.
However, Burnham-on-Crouch, just 3 miles away, has many excellent restaurants if you prefer eating out!
Countryside Views
Each unit has its own unique view of the River Crouch and surrounding countryside. It is a prime location for walks in the 9 hectares of woodland planted in 2002 by the River Crouch – home to an abundance of wildlife.
Outside Seating and BBQ
There is plenty of space outside, to sit, walk… or play!
There is a BBQ area to make the most of any good weather!
Individual Lets or Large Groups
The ‘cottages’ can be let individually but their close proximity also make it an ideal option for larger groups, for weddings and birthday parties.

“We have just spent 4 enjoyable weeks at Hill Farm Cottages. The accommodation is excellent with plenty of room and facilities. Hall Farm is part of Crouch Ridge Vineyard with great views over the River Crouch. We like being outside and sitting in the garden area was very relaxing and peaceful. A great way to unwind.
In the evenings we walked around the vineyard and toward the river.. And what better than to wander down to the Crouch Ridge Vineyard’s Wine bar restaurant for lunch or a late afternoon bottle of their delicious wine! And with Burnham on Crouch only a short ride with excellent pubs and restaurants, not too far for a night out. Even Maldon only 20 minutes away.

“Lovely cottages, with all the facilities a holiday family need and a superb location overlooking the vines and the river Crouch. A short walk along the vines to the family tasting cellar (great food and excellent wines) and only 10mins from the centre of Burnham-on-Crouch (5 mins by train).

This is an ideal location for visiting the historical town of Maldon with its quay bristling with activity, viewing the old sailing barges, based there or just enjoying a relaxing meal watching the world go by.

CROUCH RIDGE VINEYARD
The cottages are located within a short walking distance from Crouch Ridge Estate, a delightful vineyard estate where you can sample luxury wines, enjoy delicious meals as well as light snacks made with fresh locally-sourced food.
RHS GARDENS
The beautiful, ever expanding RHS gardens of Hyde Hall are some 25 minutes away – a pleasant way to spend the day.
SAILING
The sailing town of Burnham-on-Crouch is just 3 miles away and houses 4 sailing clubs, a Marina Museum and some excellent restaurants.
GOLF
Sports enthusiasts will value the proximity to 2 Golf Courses, (Three Rivers Golf and Country Club and Burnham Golf Club).
EQUESTRIAN CENTRES
There are several Equestrian centres (Elmwood Equestrian Centre) in the area.
